Project 365 rewind… uninspired

This past week for project 365 has been pretty rough-going: I’ve been basically uninspired and not in the mood to take pictures, but more than that, I haven’t been in the mood to spend any time on Flickr.  Usually I love spending time there but it’s just felt a lot like work lately and I needed a break.  It’s kind of sad because when you don’t spend time on Flickr, no one spends time on your pictures which at the same time makes sense and sucks.

Anyway, here are my pictures for the past week:

186/365 - tighten upThis is a closeup of an ice skate.  When I was real young I used to take ice skating lessons and then at some piont I just stopped, not sure why.  When I was in high school I started up again and my mom bought me this pair of skates.  I believe I stopped shortly before I left for college, and these skates have been sitting in my closet ever since.

188/365 - the rain makes everything look different, more beautiful somehow Okay fine, I like this shot too, lol.  It rained this morning (we definitely needed the rain) and when I was heading to my car, I caught sight of some droplets.  I took many pictures but I think I like the way this one turned out best.

189/365 - clouds of all colors cover the bright blue sky I was at a friend’s house, looking at her dslr (omg I want a Nikon D90 more than ever now) and she looked outside and noticed some cool-looking clouds.  Being the weather geek that she is, she ran outside to take a picture and I followed suit.  I think the colors aren’t right though, I think the pink was a bit brighter.

190/365 - chimesI love wind chimes, I love the way they sound (and for some reason they always make me think of the movie Twister) and I have quite a few.  These are hanging on my wall, the gold bits belong to one wind chime and waaaay in the background you can see another wind chime.

191/365 - all in a row This was my attempt at not being *completely* lazy about project 365.  While I would love to just snap a sub par shot and call it a day, I feel guilty, as if I should be pushing myself.  So here the repeating lines in the lights caught my eye and I stood on the bathroom counter to get this shot.

192/365 - presentHa, I wasn’t going to use this as my picture for today and then I decided.. why not?!  As creepy as the pic is, the details are amazing.  And if you didn’t read about it on twitter… this fly was buzzing around the house last night, driving my cat mad.  This morning it start buzzing again and my cat swiftly killed it… and then deposited it on my bed (which I was still in, having just woken up).  She played with it for a sec and then left it for me as a gift.  How sweet.

I really like the picture of the ice skate and the fly. Have no idea why I like the fly so much since if he was around me, I would kill him.
  • Yeah I'm glad I had my cat to kill the fly, flies are annoying.
  • I wish I had someone who would skate with me! :( My parents used to hose down the yard for us to skate on. I miss it.
But my bf refuses to do any sort of skating.

I agree with Henry's comment. You're pics for the week are great! I love the pic of the clouds, such beautiful colors you captured!
  • Aw thanks Nicolle.

For an "un-inspired week" - when you look at the line-up of photographs, surely you must see that it wasn't such a bad week after all - was it?
  • Well it's not that great though is it Henri? :p
  • I feel that same way also. It seems like a lot of people have. Maybe it's the beautiful weather, and people are wanting to be spending more time outside. For uninspired shots, these are pretty good! And despite what you think of that fly, I really like dead insect macros (because of the great detail available) and think you did a good job with it.
  • Definitely seems like a lot of people have. I think I'm better now though. And doesn't it look like the head of the fly is twisted? Disturbing...

That's exactly what happened to me for the last month and a half! But I am getting back into it and slowly getting back to commenting on other people's photographs. It's slow going and it definitely sucks that people sort of gave up on me. I just hope you get your mojo back sooner than I did.
  • Yeah I'm pretty sure a lot of people gave up on me. Before I even left. Puts me off on commenting on their pics.
  • My favorite is definitely the mirror reflection.

I used to figure skate when I was younger. Then I moved to Canada and only had hockey skates since then. I love skating though. And it's great cardio!

  • Hockey skates eh? hmmm....

And hmm, maybe I should go to the ice skating rink sometime! Good idea!
