J, over at Babies and Battlefields tagged me for this meme!

Rules: 1. Respond. 2. Tag 4 other people.

1. What is your current obsession? Well my obsessions seem to change regularly but for now… taking pictures, blogging, Netflix-ing.

2. What is your weirdest obsession? Even numbers.  I hate odd numbers and when I do things, I try to do them in even numbers.

3. Recall a fond childhood memory? When I was about 6 my family moved, from England to Texas. I remember the night before we left, it was late and I was in my room, thinking of how I was going to be like Christopher Columbus.  I crept out of bed and saw my dad standing in front of the house, talking to a friend.  He looked up at me and for a second I thought he was going to be mad that I was up past my bedtime.  But he just smiled at me and winked and I felt okay again… and crawled back into bed.

4. What’s for dinner? Leftover sausage rolls my mom made.  Mmmm…

5. What would you eat for your last meal? Has to be cooked by my parents: steak, corn on the cob, potato salad (only my mom’s will do) and regular salad. Oh and bread and butter.  Okay drooling now.

6. What’s the last thing you bought? Literally? 3 tins of cat food for my cat (the good, healthy stuff that is more expensive), some Kiss My Face shaving cream (best stuff ever) and a new Sigg water bottle.

7. What are you listening to right now? Some birds chirping, and the hum of an AC unit outside.

8. What do you think of the person who tagged you? Well I haven’t known J for long but she’s sweet and a fantastic writer, I love reading her blog.

9. If you could have a house totally paid for, fully furnished, anywhere in the world, where would it be? Now that I haven’t figured out yet.  I’m still trying to figure out where I want to live – that’s not as hot as Texas, not too cold (I don’t do well close to zero degrees), no earthquakes, no tornadoes, no hurricanes.   Near a lake or some form of water would be nice. Does this place exist?

10. If you could go anywhere in the world for the next hour, where would you go? The beach sounds lovely… feeling the warm sun, listening to the crashing waves… plus think of the pictures I could take!

11. Which language do you want to learn? I have always wanted to learn sign language.  I took a class last spring and was doing pretty well, for a while anyway.

12. What’s your favourite quote (for now)? “All that we see or seem is but a dream within a dream.” -Edgar Allen Poe

13.What is your favourite colour? Pink.

14. What is your favourite piece of clothing in your own wardrobe? This skirt I have, it’s white with pink flowers on it, very bright, maybe kind of retro.. kinda hard to explain but it just makes me smile when I wear it.

15. What is your dream job? Right now, any job.  Okay seriously… last summer I worked at Mother’s Day Out program at a church and I worked in the babies room.  I was with babies that ranged in ages from a few months old until they started walking… and it has been my favorite job.  Ever.  Playing with them, reading to them, rocking them to sleep… if only it didn’t pay peanuts, I really think I’d still be doing it!

16.What’s your favourite magazine? Real Simple… I don’t buy it often (I don’t really buy magazines anymore) but I do like the tips and everything.

17. If you had $100 now, what would you spend it on? Probably clothes…  maybe something cute to workout in, a nice top or two, a skirt…

18. Describe your personal style? Who knows, I don’t think you can call it a style.  Jeans and a tee for weekends. Dressy pants and a semi-casual top for work. A skirt and a top for when I really want to feel nice about myself.
Bold

19. What are you going to do after this? Finish watching Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (recorded it and was watching last night but need to finish it)

20. What are your favourite films? The Notebook, Romeo + Juliet, Serendipity, Mamma Mia!, Wall-E, Curious George.

21. What’s your favorite fruit? Raspberries.

22.What inspires you? Everyone inspires me. The friends I have on flickr inspire me to be a better photographer. My friends inspire me to be a better friend.  My blogger friends and the wonderful ways they write inspire me to be a better blogger and a better writer.

23. Your favourite books? Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert, The Five People You Meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom, the Harry Potter series.

24. Do you collect anything? I collect Precious Moments figurines, although I haven’t gotten a new one in ages.  Oh and I’m hoping to collect James Avery charms for a charm bracelet – I told my parents that that’s what I want for Christmas!

25. Any advice from bitter experience? Don’t look back – when you break up, it’s for a reason so don’t try to make it work again.  Once a liar, always a liar.

26. What makes you follow a blog? If it makes me laugh, if the writing is great, if it’s something I can relate to.

The end!  So I’m going to tag… Beth, Kira, Meredith, and Matt.

Number 9 is a tough one! I love Hawaii, but it's in the middle of the ocean. Coastal California is beautiful, but there's those fires and earthquakes. St. John USVI is paradise, but it's humid and there are hurricanes. Maybe the Lake District in Italy? And have George Clooney as a neighbor??
  • Oooh I do love Hawaii... but yeah, middle of the ocean kinda sucks.

    Mmm Clooney.
  • Love The Notebook, such a good film. And from your description in no 9 - maybe you should move back to England, the lake district or somewhere like that! I'm certain it won't be as hot as Texas and it shouldn't be too cold...can't promise months of sun though...

  • Hmmm, I'll have to think about that! I do like England...
  • When I worked at a bookstore I always meant to pick up Eat Pray Love. It was one of my fallbacks for recommendations for gifts for women, but I never actually read it. I might have sold one to my dad for my mom, I'll have to see if they've got it at their house. And I agree with Christina--it sounds like the Carolinas to me. If you ever get a chance, take a vacation in the Outer Banks. It's so beautiful there, although way too touristy to live there full-time.

  • Ok I am so jealous that you worked at a bookstore - I've always wanted to!

Okay, will try to take a vacation there!
  • It's funny because I like odd numbers. Well, odd numbers that end in 3. Like 3. Or my favorite number: 13. I also like 33. And 31 but that doesn't end in 3. I like 14. Ok, now I just sound weird. Naming numbers I like..

    26. What makes you follow a blog? If it makes me laugh, if the writing is great, if it’s something I can relate to. - So why do you follow my blog? Hahah. I always feel like I write about nothing of interest. And that I always slack off when I'm writing in my blog so the quality is kinda craptastic.

  • Ok you can have the odd numbers then.

Awww I like your blog... it makes me laugh, when I read what you write I feel like you're talking to me. And then you motivate me to work out!
  • Eat, Pray, Love is a great book.

As for No. 9 - I think you're looking for the Carolinas.
  • Hmm, I've never been there before. Will look into it!
  • I've been debating picking up Eat, Pray, Love- I think I may pick this up on my way home from the office today.

  • Oooh hope you do pick it up!
