Good end to the first week of school

Good news to report, finally. Today was a pretty good day. People were pretty nice to me, one going out of her way to help me get a piece of furniture for my room. The kids were pretty well-behaved and seemed to enjoy the lesson – my co-teacher said she heard the kids laughing through the walls. Even my parents were making me happy – I have one volunteeering to do recess for me 3 times a week and another brought me an iced coffee before the end of the day, just in time for recess.

So, pretty good day. I maintain that Starbucks had something to do with it. Monday and today I had Starbucks in the morning and both days went well – I felt more patient, more understanding, heck I felt like a good teacher. Tuesday through Thursday I didn’t get Starbucks and the days weren’t so great, I was definitely cranky teacher. Hmmm…

Still have to go out with my cousin tonight and I’m exhausted, falling asleep already and it’s only 7pm, so I’m definitely not looking forward tonight. But I get to sleep in Saturday and Sunday and hopefully relax. And I guess I should go to the gym – I haven’t been in over a week. Oops.

    It's good to have good, fulfilling days, hey? You know, this morning I thought of you while on the bus, and it had to do with Starbucks, and I thought 'but she gave that up ages ago'. :)

  • Just got back from holiday - glad the new job went better at the end of the week. Hope the other teachers play nice for the rest of the year! Sounds like you're on to a good thing with the Starbucks!
  • I am so glad some of the teachers are treating you better! I think that the starbucks could definitely have an effect. When I have Red Bull in the afternoon, my last period of the day goes so much better. Here's to hoping next weeks gets even better!
