I’m tons better than I was yesterday, phew. Well, I’d say about 80% recovered. My stomach was still a bit iffy today but I could actually function, which was a nice change. I woke up with this weird back pain though, and it hurts whenever I take a deep breath. Blah, I’m too young to fall apart.
Anyway, my co-worker didn’t expect me at work today, she figured I would have taken the day off. It might just be me, but I hate taking sick days when I’m actually sick. First of all, there’s the waking up early to call in sick. That’s annoying, I’d rather just sleep in. And then what? Watch TV all day? Read a book? As much as I’d like to take a day off, I’d rather do it by hanging out with my friends, maybe driving out of town to meet up with some people. Being stuck in bed, sick, is not how I want to spend a sick day. Or, really, any day.
In unrelated news… there’s an article on msn.com about how there’s too much pink for breast cancer awareness month. Seriously? Is there such a thing as too much pink?! The article goes on to say that instead of having all these pink products that go to fund a cure, there should be more about learning more about how the cancer works, how to treat it, etc. And I get that. Makes sense. But if I’m going to buy pens… and there’s a pink version for 20 cents more, and the proceeds go for a good cause… what’s wrong with that? October is one of my favorite months (behind February) because of all the pink that exists. I was trying to make my blog pink for the month but that didn’t work out. Oh well.
Meanwhile… I finally finished reading The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown yesterday. Did anyone read it? Felt rather preachy to me, and kind of unfulfilling. That might just be me though. It was intriguing for a while, I did seem to read it pretty quickly…
