More Monday Musings…

Gotta love alliteration.  Anyway, Mondays seem to be my hard day where my brain doesn’t fully function… plus it’s 7:30pm and I’m JUST now sitting down to my computer.  So I’m gonna go with randomness, cuz it works for me:

  • I read a story to my kids today, called In November. I felt like such a liar to my kids when reading it… it talks about how in November snow covers the ground, the trees are bare, the weather gets cold… um, the high tomorrow is 77, the leaves are still green and on the trees, and we’re lucky if we get snow ever.  Ooops.
  • My Starbucks barista (aka my friend’s boyfriend) might be moving to a different Starbucks.  I’m heartbroken.  He always gives me a discount whenever he can, whatever will I do without him?!
  • Daylight savings time ending is seriously confusing me.  I drove to work with the sun in my face.  Not cool.  I DID like the sun actually being out in the morning tho, it’s depressing driving to work in darkness.  And meanwhile, it got dark tonight at 6pm so it’s not even 8pm and I’m falling asleep.
  • I’ve started my Christmas shopping already.  That’s kind of shocking because I NEVER shop this early.  But I was in Hobby Lobby today with my friend Nik, looking for Christmas goodies (50% off, how can you resist?!) and I found a cross for my mom, which I figured was perfect because a while back she was talking about wanting one to hang up on a wall.  One present down, how many more to go?  At least I’m putting my shopaholic tendencies to good use, for a change.
  • I love you guys. :)  I dunno, I just felt like saying that.

Woot – day 2/30 for NaBloPoMo is in the bag. 28 more days to go.

  • Love you too! I prefer driving to work in the dark and having it stay lighter later. I cannot stand leaving tutoring and having it be pitch black :( So not a gym motivator.
  • Yeah I can understand that. The worst is when I have to drive to AND from work in the dark... miserable.
  • Ah, I absolutely adore alliteration awesomeness! ^_^ Hi, my name is Heather, and I'm a dork.*passes mic*

I wish I had ANY Christmas shopping done. I'm trying to cope with the fact that I can NOT buy everyone and their chihuahua a gift, and somehow that's turned into procrastination.

Way to go NaBloPoMo post 2!
  • Hee hee, that was alliteration awesomeness!

Ha ha, I'm the opposite - I'd rather shop for myself than everyone else. That's horrible!
  • I always start my Christmas shopping early and it takes off so much pressure later. Your readers love you back by the way. :)
  • I'm just horrible at Christmas shopping in general! And thanks. :)

Imagine what it feels like here with all the Santa Claus stuff including all the snow everywhere while we're melting at almost 40 degrees celsius in the middle of summer :)
We don't have daylight saving in Queensland... but I'd like to have it.
    And...
    ...what's alliteration? :)
  • Yeah that I can't imagine. Yikes.

I remember you didn't have daylight savings time... made it hard to figure out what time it was when my parents lived there when we changed.

Alliteration... when the first sound of the words start with the same sound. Silly sad snail. Get it? Sssss....

I'm glad to no longer have the sun in my face when I leave for work, so it works for me!

Yeah, the author of that book must live up north. I've never lived anywhere where snow in November is very common.
  • Well glad to know that the book would've been lying to you too. Lol!
  • Random Starbucks news - Did you know that tomorrow is the return of the red cups AND the gingerbread latte? :)

    That is my Monday Musing

OH and you and your students should TOTALLY take a field trip to VA. We get pretty leaves and the cold temps you are looking for. :)
  • Oh I did know - the Barnes & Noble guy told me. I got a red cup today, love it! Not very environmentally friendly of me but the red cups are too cute!

    Oooh would love to!
  • I am a sucker for gingerbread lattes. A little worried my new workplace is right across the road from Starbucks...!
  • I've never tried a gingerbread latte. I'm curious now!
