So I was getting gas this morning.  Minding my own business, trying not to freeze since I left my jacket at work (it’s only chilly in the mornings so a jacket isn’t necessary for the whole day)… when I saw a dragonfly.  Oh my word, dragonflies are so big!  I’m not a fan of any insect larger than… well large enough for me to see it.  So I’m pumping gas, staring at this massive dragonfly who appears to be cleaning his head or something, like my cat would do.

Anyway, even though it creeped me out, I HAD to take a picture of it.  So I grabbed my camera and snapped a few shots before the thought of it flying towards me freaked me out (which is probably why it’s a bit blurry):

Doesn’t that yellow and black dot in the middle of the back of it’s head look like a third eye?  Sooo creepy.

Oh and weird note: I went to the post office to mail off my gym membership cancellation form.  On the way out, I saw another dragonfly.  I never see dragonflies.  Weird.

Then…. I was on my way home from work, the sun was setting, and the sky was absolutely red.  Perfectly red.  I had to try to snag a picture.  I was already in a parking lot so I tried to find the right spot, and I snapped this picture:

I wanted to take more but some car got in front of me and by the time he moved, it was too late.  Oh well.

Anyway, I guess maybe I’m getting back in the mindset of taking pictures again?  Both times I reached for my actual camera and not my iPhone, so that’s progress!  Day 5/30… totally picture-worthy! :)
