*believe*

Wow, I just realized that yesterday was my 200th post.  Time flies.  That and I may blog too often.  Hmmm…

Oh, big news for my camera today… Lola got a new strap!

Her name was Lola... Isn’t it pretty?  I got it from My Funky Camera, I was stalking the website for a week because I fell in love with the strap.  It was finally available to order the day the camera arrived.

Meanwhile, I’m cranky… parents at work are really making this week tough.  I’m so glad that tomorrow is the last day of school for the kids (wish it were the last day of school for me too though!) and that I’m about to get a 2 week vacation – the way the last few days have gone, I totally deserve it.

Anyway, today we watched the movie The Polar Express, which I kind of adore.  It is one of my favorite Christmas movies (although I think I like A Charlie Brown Christmas more) and I think it has such a sweet message.  I also love that every school lets the kids watch it, although I liked it better at my school that let the kids wear their pajamas and watch it drinking hot chocolate.  Ah well.

So, if you’ve seen the movie/read the book, you’ll get my picture for today.  And if you haven’t, I hope you don’t mind if I spoil the ending for you.  Basically, at the end, the little boy gets a bell from Santa’s sleigh and only the people who believe in Santa are able to hear the sound it makes.  Well, the first grade teachers were clever and put little bells on yarn for the students to wear.  I didn’t think of that (what a good idea!) but maybe I will for next year.  Anyway, one of the first grade teacher gave one to me and I thought it might make a good picture.

[16/24] *believe*So if you were to ring the bell… would you hear the sound or no?

I’m kind of happy with how it turned out. I like when I actually am pleased with a picture I’ve taken, makes me feel good.  Obvious statement, but whatever. :)

  • I never saw the movie but I don't think that I'd actually hear the bell. I don't remember how old I was when I stopped believing in Santa, I just remember all of my friends still believing and I was like "Gosh, still! SUCKAS!"

It definitely sounds like a busy week!
I haven't seen that movie. Come to think of it, I haven't seen many movies lately. Even started watching the first Transformers about 3 months ago and I haven't finished.
    And yay for camera accessories.
  • That strap is very cute. The Polar Express is my favorite holiday story.

  • Happy 200th post! I love that strap too. I need a new one; I'm using the one that came w/ my camera - no need to give Canon free advertising! Lola must be very happy lol.
  • Love the strap. Love the teensy bell, too.

If you're heading into two weeks vacation, there will be plenty of time for you to go out exploring with Lola. Just get in the car and DRIVE until you see something to shoot!
  • I love it! This would make an excellent Christmas card! Love the movie as well.
  • I would hear the sound!! I love the picture. And I love The Polar Express.
  • TotallyHeather
    I'd hear the sound.

I love that book. When I was little, I got the deluxe edition. It had a bell with a leather strap and a little cassette that had a man reading the story. I remember he had the most wonderful reading voice.

I love Lola's new strap. It suits her and makes her super pretty :)
