Drop everything and read…

Today was just one of those days where I was content to lounge around, reading.  Not playing on the internet, not playing with the camera… I got sucked back into reading the Sookie books.  If you’ve read them, I’m sure you may agree that they are quite addicting.

Anyway, I wasn’t in the mood to take a picture of anything today but my dad reminded me that I had wanted to take pictures of the lights outside.  He lent me his tripod (which was a bit wobbly) and then I spent the next 10 minutes trying to figure out what setting I needed the camera to be on for the shot.  I still have no idea how to take the shot I was going for.  But one of the first shots I took worked out okay, not great, so I’m using it as my picture for today.

[20/24] Lighting up the path I wanted more bokeh, and I wanted to shoot it differently but it was hard – the path is crooked, some plants get in the way… excuses, excuses, I know.  Mainly it was that I had no idea what I was doing!

And now I’m going back to reading.   I’m nearly done so I should be more active online tomorrow!

  • Oooh, what are sookie books? I need something good to read!
Taking pics of lights can be hard. The few times I've done it, I've put the camera on manual mode and let the lens open for like 20 seconds or so using the tripod.
  • I've been reading too. It's been blissful. I've read my way through "Snow Flower and the Secret Fan" by Lisa See and I'm now reading "The Aviary Gate" by Katie Hickman. Loving it! What are you reading?
