On being back at work… and psychic tendencies.

So it was back to work today.  Those 2 weeks of winter break really flew by, and it was sad to see them go.  I’ll admit though… while I did not like waking up at 6am (my alarm clock actually confused me), I do feel a bit refreshed, slightly energized and a lot more patient.  And patience is something I struggle with, and something that is vital in being a teacher.

Meanwhile, last night I dreamed (dreamt?) I was getting a new student.  I met with her and tried to talk to her, to see what level she was on compared to the rest of my class… I woke up and I even remembered her name.  And I’m not the type of person that remembers dreams.  Anyway, the dream stuck with me and I told the other kinder teacher about it… and *another* teacher overheard our conversation and said that she had heard there was going to be a new kindergarten student.  I should find out within the next day or two if it’s true.  Interesting.  Also, kind of annoying – getting new students in the middle of the year is tough – basically you have to start from scratch with them, they don’t know any of the rules, they may not be on the same level as the rest of the class…

Lol the title is a joke btw… I’m so not psychic. Just slightly. :)

I had more to say but I forgot it. Such is my life.

I always figured you were a bit of a psycho...ic.
  • i thought this was going to be something amazing like the name of the student in the dream was the actual name of the new student in your school. psh :P
  • My Grandmother always dreamt about things before they happened. It used to freak me out when I was little. I don't know what to think about it.
  • I believe that if you can clearly recall your dream that it is probably for a good reason! Years ago I had a dream about a friends car being in a car crash but I was sure my friend wasn't driving. My friend had the clearest blue eyes ever (I remember oh so well because I had the hugest crush on him)...and when I went to the hospital to visit the crash victim the person looking back at me had brown eyes....

Next day mine and my friends plans were cancelled because his friend borrowed his car....guess who had a crash!? It was seriously freaky.

That sort of thing has happened to me more times then I care to recall. Too bad the dreams about Kellan Lutz don't come true! LOL

Ugh, new students mid-year are the WORST. I feel bad for the kid, too.
  • Ugh! Work was horrible for me yesterday too. The transition from break to work always sucks. That's weird about the dream. I'll be curious to see if it comes true. I've had that happen a few times and it always freaks me out!
  • Wow psychic dream. Your life could be made into a tv show, about a psychic teacher who solves crimes lol :)

    OoooOOO! Creepy!
  • I'm very sad-- I totally thought since the title had "work" and "psychic" that you worked for miss cleo or something. although I think she's in jail now, so that might not be so great.

I'm curious to find out the kids name :)

How freaked out would you be if her name was the one from the dream?!?!

I dreaded going back to work today. I felt like throwing a kinder hissy fit. But, yes, it was sort of nice to be back on a normal schedule i suppose.
  • I've had those kinds of dreams/situations. Partly because of that I started a dream journal. Every morning (mostly) when I get up the first thing I do is start write it in (free-write style).

It's kind of fire and forget at this point. I want to fill up the journal before I start analyzing. It would've been useful for a friend in college too. They dreamed I was telling them about a girl I was engaged too, but couldn't remember her name!

Waking up was the worst part about going to work for me too. Once I was there, I was pretty happy.

psychic tendencies? can you guess what I'm thinking??? Hmmmm??? ;)

I can imagine how hard it will be to get a new student. Maybe it will be an easy transition though?
