“School” supplies…

I love shopping for “school supplies”.  Ever since I was little, Office Max/Office Depot has been my happy place.  Is it just me?  I always loved shopping for things to take to school, and now that I’m “all grown up”, I’m the exact same way.

file foldersI’m not a fan of plain Jane manilla folders… I like mine to be colorful.

sticky notesI love sticky notes, of any shape, color and style.   You should see my collection! And do you see how I keep finding myself drawn to birds?

Now if only I knew how to take better pictures of them. Sigh.

  • Office supply stores are a weakness of mine, school supplies are my undoing and I'm drawn to birds, too. Great minds, right? ^_^
  • I LOVE office/school supplies too! In high school, my friends used to get me Office Depot or Staples gift cards for my birthday and Christmas. Love them!

    I love school supplies! I get so excited when that section of Target fills up with supplies at the end of summer. So much fun shopping for school supplies.

    I have an unhealthy addiction to buying office supplies . . . especially pens. I love the binder clips!
  • I think your pictures are fine. Not everything has to be shot in a light box. I actually prefer shadows. My only advice would be to get a large piece of Bristol Board to shoot on - it serves as a good surface. I have two pieces, one that is white and one that is black - they are both gray on the back.
  • Well I would say the lighting is okay, and you're right about not needing the light box... but I think the composition sucks.

    It looked so much prettier in my head. :p
  • And that right there is why you're a "photographer" and not just a girl with a camera. It's important to analyze ones own works, and you've found some things you'd like to improve upon. But I think in your case, you may be a little hard on yourself. The binder clips isn't wonderful - but the other two are great compositions. I think most of your work is composed well. They can't all be beauties, though.

    And you're right, they can't all be beauties... at least I learned from this and hopefully will do better next time. Hopefully!

  • Pretty! I like looking at stationery too but I can almost never bring myself to spend the extra money on the pretty stuff - I think my years of being an impoverished student have left me with huge guilt about spending extra on things rather than just buying the cheapest. I am working on that though - I recently bought a bright pink filofax instead of a diary! But I do love window shopping.
