So last week I felt frustrated with Danbo.  This week… well.  Let’s look at the pictures for this week, shall we:

day forty – Danbo drinks her orange juice every morning.

Yeah… that’s the only pic I posted this week for Danbo.  And that picture was taken back in January, as you can tell by the snowflake tin that she’s standing on.

I just haven’t wanted to take pictures of her.  It isn’t personal, and I’m not cranky with her… and looking at pictures of her still makes me smile.  It’s just that… well, for a while Danbo was my inspiration, as others had noticed.  But lately, she hasn’t been inspiring me.  And, as someone pointed out in the comments last week, if I’m tired of her, I should let her go.  So… I’m letting her go for right now.  I’m not saying I’m done taking pictures of her, or that I’m done with her 365… but for now, she’s on hold.

And in case you were wondering, THIS is the type of picture I’m currently inspired by.  (Yes, that is my own picture… I’m allowed to be inspired by my own pictures, right?)

I’ll admit it – I’m tired of Danbo. It’s hard enough doing a project 365, I don’t know what made me think I could do 2.  And while I enjoy taking pictures of her, I really don’t know if I’ll be able to finish a 365 with her, at least not right now.  I’m running out of ideas, I’m running out of motivation… and I’m determined to make my other 365 great, which means Danbo takes away from that.  Sigh.  Don’t know what to do.

day thirty three – can we watch Wall-E?  It’s my favorite movie.  And my friend is in it…

 day thirty four – are these all for me??

 day thirty five – now THIS is riding in style.  Danbo really likes my new camera purse bag. :)

 day thirty six – whatcha lookin at?

 day thirty seven – this is a hat?

 day thirty eight – Danbo likes having control of the remote.  She likes watching the Olympics.

  day thirty nine – why do you keep putting things on my head.

Okay I’ll admit it.  I got jealous.  Super jealous.  Danbo started getting so much love on my flickr stream and my other project 365 (the one that I’m actually working hard on, as opposed to this one) started feeling unloved.  Unappreciated.

Plus a friend (who isn’t on flickr, but he checks out my flickr stream from time to time) noticed that my stream seemed to be taken over by Danbo. I had to explain that I was doing a project 365 with Danbo, he had no idea – he thought I was just obsessed with the little robot.

I kind of love Danbo still, and taking pictures with her is fun, but I’m kind of frustrated that my stream has so much of her and that some people flock to her pictures and ignore the ones I care about.  So I don’t know. I guess I’m just venting, I don’t think anything is gonna change. I don’t think.

day twenty three – Yeah I may look cute.. but this isn’t comfortable.

day twenty four – Where are MY valentines?

day twenty five – Danbo got a Valentine… and present!  A very sweet flickr friend offered to make a hat for Danbo.  Isn’t it the cutest thing ever??  She also sent the Valentine’s card and the tootsie pops – I was so tickled to get it in the mail!

day twenty six – See… Starbucks loves me too

day twenty seven – it’s all you need.

day twenty eight – in time out.

day twenty nine – am I still in time out?  I promise I’ll be less cute. (Ha, is that possible?)

day thirty – Wall-E got Danbo a Valentine and some candy.  I think Danbo forgot to get Wall-E something tho.  Oops.  (The props were sent by [F]oxymoron… thanks!!)

day thirty one – I got you some flowers for Valentine’s Day… Do you like them?

day thirty two – happy valentine’s day!

Whoa, Danbo overload this week!  Oh and as you can tell, I didn’t really stick with the pink theme with Danbo, it was hard enough sticking with it on my own 365.  Ah well.

Seriously, I hate coming up with titles for blog posts.  I’m bad at it.  And I also hate coming up with titles for picture recaps.  But c’est la vie!

Anyway, where we last left our hero, she was outside, walking on a balance beam.  She was apparently a bit nervous from falling the previous times I had dropped her:

day fourteen – would you really have let me fall??

 day fifteen – but… but what do you mean it’s time to go inside.  We just got here.  5 more minutes… please?

 day sixteen – don’t worry, I’ll help you carry your camera bag.  Um… maybe I’ll need a little bit of help.

 day seventeen – I said no peeking!  Look away, look away! You’re not supposed to see this yet! Aw, man…  (Maybe Danbo’s getting my flowers for Valentine’s?  Yay, at least someone is!)

 day eighteen – Danbo is listening to my new favorite song, “Wonderful” by Gary Go. She looks sad but really, she loves it.  She’s just in awe at the beauty of it.  (P.S. I kinda like how the cord looks almost like a heart.)

 day nineteen – Oh no.  What happened to the flower? Did it break? (Btw, I absolutely adore this picture. I think I REALLY fell in love with Danbo after I saw this shot.)

 day twenty – does this bow make my head look big?

 day twenty one – Danbo always gets too close to the TV.  She’s gonna strain her eyes if she keeps it up.

 day twenty two – I’m gonna need help finishing this… it’s a bit big!!

 So there were more than the usual week’s worth of Danbo pictures this time around, mainly because I’m kind of trying to play catch up so that both my 365 projects finish at the same time.  I’m not rushing it and posting 20 something pictures all at once, but I figure throwing in an extra pic or two a week will work out just fine.  Or in the case of this week… 3 extra pics. :p

And, as I mentioned in my project 365 post… unfortunately some of these pictures have already been posted on this blog, for that project.  But I can’t exclude them from the 365 Days of Danbo recap, can I??

 day four – Danbo relaxes on the “beach”, tries to sunbathe.

day five –  Danbo and Wall-E meet…. and both look completely unsure of each other!

 day six – Danbo isn’t too sure about being left alone with the cat, Bay.

 day seven – ummm, why am I lopsided?  (The after effects of me dropping Danbo AGAIN – she now tilts to the right.  *smacks self*)

day eight - I don’t know if this is really traveling in style.  Seems a bit cramped to me.

 day ten – your phone is ringing. Want me to answer it?  I think it’s for you…

 day eleven – whoa… it’s like me.  But bigger.  And not lopsided… yet. (I had ordered the larger Danbo online before realizing that the mini one was the perfect size for me. Larger Danbo will probably appear in some adventures, but mini Danbo is the star of this project.)

 day twelve – can we go outside and play?  It’s such a pretty day.  (not really.. it was COLD!)

 day thirteen – yikes this balance beam is hard to walk on!

I apparently am crazy.  Really. But I got a new prop on Friday and just fell in love… with a little toy called Danbo:

Admit it, she’s pretty darn cute.

For those of you who have never heard of Danbo, I originally heard of her a few weeks ago on Flickr.  I was surfing Explore and saw one and thought she was adorable, and decided to find out more.  She’s from the manga series Yotsuba&!, which features a little green haired girl by the same name.  At one point in the series, a different character, a girl named Miura, decides to make a robot costume out of cardboard boxes and Yotsuba is led to believe that it’s a real robot.

Anyway, as soon as I held my Danbo in my hand, a bunch of picture ideas popped into my head. I realized that if I went with every single shot I wanted to do, my project 365 would be completely overtaken with Danbo shots.  I debated doing a project 52 (1 shot a week for 52 weeks) but, well, I kind of want to do more.

I’m relaxing the 365 rules this time. With my personal project 365, the goal is to take a project every day, but with this project I’m just going to post 365 pictures of Danbo, the day they are taken doesn’t matter.  So, for example, I went out for a teacher workshop on Saturday and took 4 pictures, so I’m going to make each picture an “adventure” and post them on separate days.

We’ll see how long it takes me to get burned out but for right now I’m REALLY excited about this project!

day one – After a long journey over an entire ocean, Danbo arrives at last!  (On the left you can see the cardboard box that she arrived in.)

day two – Danbo goes to her first educator’s worksheet and meets a strange object.

day three – Is this a beach?  Danbo stumbles into a plant pot and gets confused by all the sand.
